  1. Hi,

I have a 10 yr old daughter who has been playing for several years. She plays competitively and I'm looking to upgrade her clubs. She currently uses junior clubs. When I go to national junior tournaments, I see a lot of the juniors in her age group using 'adult' clubs with either cut down or junior graphite shaft.

So I want my daughter to try out AP2's with a graphite shaft. Are there any graphite shafts that can be cut down that will work with the AP2's? Currently, her iron set is 6-GW with the 6 iron being 32" long and .5" difference between the different clubs. So the 7 iron is 31.5", 8 iron is 31", etc. I was even thinking of going .5 to 1" longer than her current clubs.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Michael, Standard women's length on a 6 iron is 36.5", 7 iron 36", etc.
3" shorter or 33" on the 7 iron is maximum length we will cut. It sounds like she may be a touch too tiny at this point. If you check with the junior fitters in Virginia, they will have (or can get) a junior ladies graphite 7 iron fitting shaft at 34" along with driver, fairway, hybrid lengths to match.
