I was fit by TPI fitter and received my new clubs in June. I have been havaing a problem with my shorter scoring clubs, 9 thru W2. Very little consistency on other than a flat lie, which is a little erratic draw to fades by 6 or so yards either way from a tee. I was fit for recoil 65 shafts and 4* up. Old set of 710's were 2* up, no real problems there other than the Indian Aspect. I was wondering what with them bent 4* up can I expect problems getting them bent to the 2* up. Don't know if they were forged at the 4*, or bent at Titleist. I went through 2 fitting sessions, but on a monitor, no outside range and with just the 7 Iron. Do I need to sell this set and then get fit on a range? I am 69 and probably not too much more time to keep changing clubs...Any and all insight is very much appreciated..I live in N.W. Pa. so the range fitting at this time not realistic. I surely hate to wait til April or so and then add 6 weeks for delivery.

Lee you can take them to a local pro shop or to a Golf Galaxy and they can bend them to 2* upright if needed. I had my AP1 714 at a local range where I was fitted. The AP1 can be bent up or down at least 2*.
    Hope this helps

Thanks Greg, I also understand they can be bent once without any problem. But, were the "bent 4* up originally" or were they cast / forged this way. If bent 4* up, what are the chances of them cracking by going back to 2* up?

Hi Lee, Sorry to hear you are having issues with your short irons. If you were fit at TPI by one of our fitters, please email him to see if he has any insight on what is happening with your short irons. If you were fit at a Fitting day by a product specialist, please give us a call and we can put you in touch with him/her to take a look at what is going on. 888-TITLEIST
If you have decided that bending them is the route to go, please have your local pro shop send them back here to be bent (to preserve the warranty). They were cast at 2° up and bent the additional 2°. Have the pro shop explain the issue to the repair department when they set it up.

Cathi: Thank You so much for this info. I just stopped in at the Sports Store where I was fitted and bought them. They are willing to do whatever is necessary to remedy whatever problem there is. Will spend a good time in the local indoor range before doing anything drastic.. Any adjustments will go back to your repair Dept. to be done. Once again, Thanks so much...Lee
