I was playing a set of clubs that I was fitted for and lets use the 4 iron as an example. My 4 iron from my previous set was 39.25" my fitter said that my previous set runs longer then the AP1. The titleist AP1 is a length of 38.50. He suggested to take 1" of my irons. Now my irons are shorter then my previous set I was fit for. If they are two short who is responsible? The sporting goods store should be responsible for the fix correct? I was going off of the person who was performing his service. At what height do you take length away from your irons?

Being to short is probably one or two things. You were fit properly and -1 would give you the best ball striking results recommended by the fitter or -1 just feels short to you. I've had a fitter recommend -1 on my irons and I told him, "I'm not comfortable with that" and my order was made. Yes, you should trust your fitter especially if it's a certified Titleist Fitter. If it's just a normal brick and mortar employee I look at it more as feedback and opinion. From a certified Titleist Fitter I take it more serious but I also take into account my game and preference/feel. Not to be mean but in the end ultimately it's up to you as to the specs you have ordered based off of the recommendation from the fitter or certified Titleist Fitter.
