I just spent over an hour and a half at the California Fitting Centre and what a treat. Glenn Mahler was so knowledgeable and helpful and I can't wait to get my new D2 Driver and F2 3 Wood. I learned so much about what I can do to get better ball flight and keep the ball in play. When I was in Edmonton being tested at a reputable golf store I was told not to buy the 917 as there was no noticeable difference from my 915. It was suggested that I continue with a regular shaft even though my swing speed was 105. After 40 minutes on their incredible range in California I was hitting it higher, longer and getting more carry. I went from a 10.5 set to 12 degree in the 915 to a 917 8.5 set to 9.25 with a draw weight of 14 grams in the Driver and 16 grams in the 3 wood. We tried about 6 shifts and I am so happy with the Project X HZRDUS 65 stiff shaft in the driver and the Diamana White 70 Stiif in the 3 wood.

Hi Robert, It is a marvelous place, isn't it :) I have forwarded your post to Glenn and I'm sure he will be glad to hear how much you enjoyed it!

No question there is value for an Oceanside fitting. I had Glenn on a Titleist tour van wedge fitting and Dino for metals at Oceanside. Between the 917 and the magic touch, I really gained 20 yards on a D2 and 15 yards on a 18 degree fairway. Started with a 913 driver and 915 FW.

Wow!!! You went from a 12 degree 915 to a 9.25 degree 917 and you are hitting it higher??? I am considering moving from the 915 to the 917 but haven't had a chance to do a fitting yet (I was told the same thing as you regarding not much difference in the two).
