I understand how fitters approach golfers, but I'm at a fork in the road. My SS isn't that fast anymore (110-115), but as a low handicapper (+1) I hit it pretty solid most of the time. Fitters generally want me in an 8.5. At my last Team Titleist fitting, he said "if they made a 7.5, I'd put you in it". They base it on the really good shots, discarding the bad. So the question is, "Why do fitters look at a guy like me and try to match me with a tour players optimum launch and spin?" I have a 10.5, and love it. Still carry it 275+. Yes, I launch it high, but I need that extra loft. Driver has never been my strength.......
