Hey everyone. Just got done with an extensive full bag fitting at a local Golf/school/academy. I hit many different makes and models of clubs shafts etc. It was a 3 hour fitting and well worth it. Good news is I was recommended for the 716 CB with Kbs tour c-taper shafts 4-pw, 917 D3 8.5, 917 F1 13.5, and 50, 54, 58 vokey wedges. Works out nicely cause im currently gaming the 710 CB's as well as the 910 D3 driver and woods/hybrids. Now my question is the option of puring the golf shafts that they recommend. Never done this but sounds like a no brainer of something that should be done and is helpful. Im dropping some serious COIN on this next full bag of clubs so I figure why not go all the way. Any thoughts

  2. I went in for an iron fitting in December to see if the shafts in my old irons was right for my swing speed. I had the 714 cb's with the DGs300. I was told that I needed to have the project x 6.5's. Needless to say I ended up just buying a new set with the right shafts. Better feeling knowing that keeping my swing speed and having a slight draw is better than having to slow my swing to prevent a hard draw/hook from having too weak of a shaft.

I've had my iron shafts "pured" and can definitely notice the difference. Well worth the expense. On any club with an adjustable hosel, its a waste of money, for obvious reasons.

The radial quality of the shafts today are very good, probably wouldn't need puring. I would contact the shaft manufacturer's and see what they have to say on the CPM difference between the hard & soft spine & if they feel that puring would offer any benefit. The KBS team is very helpful!

Most of the shaft companies say its not neccesary any more with the technology and materials used in todays shafts. But that being said the mind is a very powerful thing ina golfer and if you think it will help and have the funds, I would go for it. It can't hurt and it there won't be any "what ifs"
