  1. I'm trying to get my C16 driver regripped and fitted. I went to Golf Galaxy today which is a preferred Titleist location however, they did not know how to regrip it or shorten the shaft. I guess the issue is the sure fit dial on top of the shaft. Does anyone have any information on where or how I can get it regripped and the shaft shortened without damaging the sure for dial?

  2. I have the C-16 also, without the weighted grip, but the person regriping it will need a special tool that slides into the top of the grip, and expands so the weight can be taken out, you should be able to talk to your local Titleist rep, or retailer, find out who does the Titleist Thursdays, those guys should have the tool, my guys who do the central Illinois Titleist Thursdays, have one I've seen it in use, if I'm not mistaken they said it was several hundred dollars, so finding a pro shop, or retailer with one will be next to impossible, look at it from there point of view, would you buy a tool for 200 plus, to work on a club less than 1% of golfers will have, I think the mfg, count was around 1100 units, with a cost of over 1100.00 , and if I'm not mistaken I think they are still available. Just send it back to Titleist they will do it correctly.

First question would be, do you actually have the weight in the grip? I know that my C16 does not have the weight, just the end cap. You should have this info from your fitting.

I did ask Titleist is I could get replacement grips for that driver and was told that they no longer have them. Even it you could get the weight out, which will happen pretty easily when you cut it off the shaft, without the correct grip there will be no place for the weight end cap to fit properly.

You can also go to a fitting day and experiment with different shafts that do not have the weight in them. This will give you an idea of the difference in feel if you do in fact have a weight in yours.

Hi Milad, We would recommend that you have Golf Galaxy (or your pro shop) set up the regrip to be done here at our facility. We have discontinued use of those grips and you can choose any grip that we offer. We will also cut it down for you if that is what you would like to do.
