I currently play AP2s with DG SL X100s that are +1.5" past standard. Given they are so much past standard, I am assuming they play considerably softer than X100. Is there a rule of thumb for how soft they play? For example, would it be 1 flex per 0.5"?

As a follow-up, if I were to hardstep the shafts, how much does that impact the flex of the shaft? I understand they become more tip stiff, but does it just help get in between the next level of flex? Or is it nearly a full flex?

    Thanks, John

Depending on what is your longest iron at 1.5" longer than standard you may not be able to get a shaft long enough to hard step it.
