    Hi all,

Hoping someone can help me with this. I managed to get myself a C16 driver second hand. The shaft is a few inches too long for myself and I've asked my local club pro if he can shorten it for me but he's pretty stumped with trying to get the weight out of the grip end of the club. Anybody got any ideas of how to remove it or if there is a specific tool?

I know fitting is the best choice but unfortunately I wasn't able to get fit for the club as I'm in the UK and the C16 driver isn't available over here.

    Thanks for any help!

It's interesting that there is a weight in the butt end of the shaft. To my knowledge this is a unique feature only with C16 driver. Does anyone know if some other shafts / drivers have this weight in the butt section?

There is a special tool for that. I would bet that you don't actually have a weight in the grip but just a plug. You could call Titleist Customer Service and ask for the Custom Club group. Give them the serial number of your club and they can tell you if it was specified with a grip weight or not.

I know that mine does not have a weight and from the people I have spoken to, quite a few were made that way. It will all depend on how the fitter specified that the club be built for the original owner.

If you don't care about the grip weight, just cut the shaft off. If you want to use it, them you will need to be careful in removing the grip as that grip is no longer available.
