AP3 Fitted, question on Shafts

    My fitting specialist Alec had me hit the AP3 with trackman close to 35 times and he recommended the AMT Tour White S300 or maybe even the Project X 5.5 ---- My question is I usually have always been a Mid launch shaft, and I am concerned that these are both low launch shafts. I think maybe the Project X LZ 5.5 might be a good blend or even a AMT Black.

    What do you think?

    Presumably you did also hit a higher launch shaft or you talked about the launch angle with the fitting results? In my case, I had 716 AP1s with the KK 65 senior flex. More loft head and higher launch shaft then the AP3 with the AMT-Red (mid-high launch). My 716 and the AP3 with the AMC graphite shaft didn't get the same launch or distance as the AMT-Red R300. But...your results may vary. If you aren't sure, you really need to talk to your fitter about the choice.

    If the launch monitor numbers show that the best shaft for you is the AMT Tour White go with that. TrackMan numbers don't lie.

    Without even seeing your ball flight or swing, I'm guessing the fitter wants to bring your launch angle down. Remember, TrackMan uses Tour player data as the peak performance range. I went through it also. If you play in the wind at all, you'll be grateful later.....
