  1. Heading out in 2 weeks for a Tee to Green fitting ready for some new Irons & Wedges. Does anyone know if you can tour the Titleist plant in Carlsbad? Must go to the Scotty Cameron gallery and hope to get in a round at Torrey Pines.

Robert. You will have a great experience at TPI. I was there in October 2016 for the full day. Fitness evaluation in the morning and fitting in the afternoon. Also, went to the Scotty Cameron gallery. That is a don't miss. Not sure about the plant tour. I'd say it's worth asking when you're at TPI.

Robert, I did a fitting at Oceanside back in 2015 and it was a blast. Went for a driver, fairway fitting and since I only carry a 3 wood they did my 2 hybrids also.
    Have a great time.

GBrown, there are tons of options out here. High end choices with an ocean view are The Lodge at Torrey Pines, Hilton Cape Rey in Carlsbad, JW Marriott Downtown, etc. Tons of small places up and down the Coastal Highway (101). If you want to say with a golf package, high-end options are Park Hyatt Aviara (LPGA venue), Fairmont Grand, La Costa (old PGA Tour stop). If you are looking for a blend, not to fancy but close to the ocean and easy to get to other places in North County, I vote for SpringHill Suites Oceanside. Pretty far from downtown San Diego but close to the Titleist TPI and less crowded than downtown. More of a laid back coastal vibe.

I travel a lot on business, and so I shop the Marriott/Starwood and Hilton properties from La Jolla to Oceanside. Plenty to choose from, in addition to the the resorts Dale mentioned. The day of the week impacts the pricing, so I've stayed at multiple sites especially if I have secondary places to go. I've played Aviara w/o staying at the resort.

Just a heads up most schools are back in session towards the end of August so many of those weeks prior to school getting back in session the hotels fill up quickly...I like the Sheraton Resort Carlsbad...right across the street from the Crossings at Carlsbad.

    Cheers,
