Regarding shaft

    Hi, I got fitted for titleist woods and irons at Roger Dunn golf shops in Santa Ana and I’ve been super happy with my irons and my woods but I had a question on my shafts in my 3 wood and driver. I can shape shots pretty well with all my clubs except my 3 wood and driver, I’m trying to work the ball from right to left and it just won’t let me do it it either goes dead straight or a slight fade I can’t draw it all when I can draw all my irons when I want so I’m pretty sure it’s the shafts not allowing me to I have the titleist 910 driver and 3 wood with the Diamana ahina 72 low-mid X. I’m not sure my swing speed but it’s fast I hit a PW 150 yards. It just feels to me as it’s a board feeling and I can’t turn it over if you could please send me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it! I like the head I just think I need different shafts in both woods? Thanks for your time.

    Feel is as important as the technical details of launch and spin. The question with your 910's is how to improve on the shafts you have. By the time you pay someone with a Trackman for the fitting with the current arsenal of shafts and then buy one, you could be 1/2 to 2/3 of the way to a new driver. Assuming a fitting for $75 since you won't be buying an entire club and $150-200 for a new shaft. The 3W is virtually a dead end - only 910 FW shafts fit a 910. The driver shafts are interchangeable at least through the 917s. You can get a good price on a 917 into September or rock a TS after that. If you can find a Titleist Thursday, then the fitting is guaranteed to be free.

    Not to knock Roger Dunn's but the fact that you have an older model driver and fairway woods (910), you might consider doing a Titleist Thursday fitting in an outdoor environment with their TrackMan technology. You will get a better fit and being outdoors, will really get better feedback on working the ball right to left. Option 2 is to buy a few used shafts on line that are a bit softer flex and lower kick point than what you have and just to trial and error.
