I scheduled a Titleist Thursdays fitting in a couple of weeks and I was hoping some could share their experience. I am looking at irons and am a little hesitant because I am not overly confident in my swing right now. Unfortunately, work and life have been busy lately so I have not been playing at all or practicing as often as I normally do. I will be able to get some range time btwenn now and the fitting so I think all will be good. Has anyone been through a fitting recently?

    Hi Tyler,
It's a balance between life, work and golf and oftentimes, golf is at the bottom of the time list, but there will not be any pressure. Just go there early to check in and warm up. Remember, the fitter has seen it all, so you won't surprise him/her. You will have about 45 minutes in a one on one fitting to go over your irons, what you like, what you don't and what you would like to see in your new irons.

You might not be able to get much better at the range, but you will need some conditioning for the number of swings you'll do to warm up and work through multiple combinations. Just remember it is like an evening 9 holes with your son and you don't need to impress anyone with your 110% swing. The more natural the tempo the better the fit.

Look at it as a learning experience. A good fitter doesn't care about your swing or how much you play, only what works to improve the tools you have to work with. You will be surprised at what a few minor adjustments can do for you, and you are not obligated to buy.

Thanks all. I appreciate the feedback and for putting my mind at ease a little.
  6. Like Cathi said, the fitter has seen it all! I went last year to a Titleist Thursday event and got fit for irons and a hybrid... I was so happy with the results that I went back for wedges and a driver from the same fitter. The best part was that they had all of the gadgets set up but allowed you to hit off of grass onto a range so you can actually see your ball flight as opposed to on a monitor.

Definitely recommended... my brothers have all since gone and switched to Titleist due almost entirely to these free fitting events.
