  1. I see an upcoming Titleist Thursday at a private club close to my home. Since this isn't open to the public, can I get on for a free fitting? I didn't see any disclaimers about having to be a member, but also don't feel the club house would be open to outsiders. What is the protocol?

Both Titleist and the club are offering an open Thursday. If it was limited to just club members, it wouldn't be advertised outside the club and would be for 1 or 2 days a season. Even for just a one on one fitting, I've found private clubs are open to non-members (well, I haven't tried Oakmont....) as there is profit in the sale of the clubs and/or a fitting that keeps the pro busy. I've just used the philosophy if you don't call, the answer is always no. My best decision was cold calling a premier site that is a private club. I still use the same fitter/teacher 8 years later that has been a top 10 teacher in Wisconsin.

Short answer, if it is a Titleist Thursday, open slots are open slots.

I would just call the club and ask. If you don't ask, you won't know.

Thank you for clarifying. I was hesitant as well. I will make the call.

Hi, If a Titleist Thursday is listed on our site, it is open to the public. The Titleist Product specialist will be conducting the fitting and all reservations are made through this site. www.titleist.com/.../appointments. As with all Titleist Thursdays, the fittings are made by reserving the time and walk ups are discouraged (especially at these private clubs).
  6. Thank you everyone for the responses. I’m looking forward to my iron fitting tomorrow!

Good luck and keep an open mind to the fitters suggestions. Lots of times, what you think you want is not the best fit.
  8. I currently play 3-PW 704CB (2005) and was looking forward to hitting the latest model. Unfortunately the fitter didn't have a LH CB or an MB to hit. I did like the feel of the AP2 with it being forged but wasn't a fan of the AP3. He is going to work to get those heads in so I can try it out this week if the weather holds off. I'm thinking my decision will be down to CB or AP2, may even throw in a T-MB 3 iron.
