  1. Hi

I have the opportunity to take on an almost new set of 712 AP2. However, they were built at +1" length (DG S300 with correct lengths for the +1") which I do not need. Is it possible to cut them down by an inch and still get back to the correct swing weight (I believe they would have been built at +1" and standard swing weight)

Or am I setting myself up for hassle and better off passing on the opportunity - I think that is around 12g on each head after a 1" cut...

    Advice welcomed.

    Thanks

    Paul

I'm not sure I would want to add the required 12 grams- you could also look at a lighter grip options to help with the swing weight loss- 5 grams lighter grip = 1 swing weight. Also remember that decreasing the shaft length will make the clubs play 2 degrees flatter so you may require adjustment for that- if the lie was decreased when the clubs were built you may have an issue if you want them further flattened. Lots to consider (weigh) so investigate further if you think worthwhile. Good luck!!
