  1. Hello Just want to make sure I am ordering the correct clubs. I had a 20 minnute demo day fitting at my club that is helpful but probably not completely thorough. here is my background. I was a 1 to 3 handicap for about 15 years. I had to take a couple years off and started up two years ago. I am now between a 4 and 6 handicap but with intentions of getting lower again. I have used AP2's for about 8 years. my current 7 iron currently carries about 142 (demo day results) and with the setup Roger Hatcher had me at it was carrying about 10 yards more. the following are what he came up with.

    T200 current AP2 amt r300 red nippon stiff standard length + 1/2 +2 upright +2 upright

My main concern is the regular flex shaft. I am not a power player but need consistency. Is there a way of ordering a soft stiff shaft? My assistant said something about soft tipping it. Someone else mentioned getting the stiff shaft but increasing the swing weight. Any suggestions of shaft choice is really appreciated and if there is an upcharge shaft that is better I am all for it. I would rather order the clubs made correctly instead of having alterations later.

    thanks Brant

Check to see if there is a Titleist Thursday in your area. Or, ask your club pro, if there is a Titleist rep in your area, that can get you fitted. It is a pretty big purchase, and, you should be confident about what you buy. If you have concerns about your fitting, let your fitter know, and, he/she should be able to ease your concerns.
  3. 7 iron going 142 carry is in the Regular flex window. Temp matters too, if you have a short and fast swing tempo you are better off leaning stiff, if you have a full long swing as smoother tempo you can lean regular. Trajectory differences will see a regular fly higher and may reduce the push to the right tendancy. There is something to be said when playing a club that you feel is too stiff especially when you get a little tired is to feel like you have to swing harder to get it to work. I would guess that your driver swing speed is around 85mph, if it is in the 90-105mph window then you are probably stiff. I played X100's for about 20 years and got the T100's in the S400 (41yo, but still hit my 7 iron 170-175) I have a slower tempo so i like the heavier shafts. The t200's will probably be a club longer tjan your current setup, find the shaft that gives you the best trajectory and feel.

Dispersion is not necessarily improved by a stiffer shaft. You might end up with a tight pattern but consistent fade. As noted, your transition and swing tempo will impact that.

Yes, in metal shafts you can order a hard step R flex or a soft step X flex. However, for a $1200 purchase, seek more professional advice which may better apply to you. A $75 fitting fee is far better than a $400 re-shafting charge.

I just recently purchased the T300s. Love them based on play and a great fitting. I went from stiff shafts after hitting the AMT Reg R300 shafts. Was getting 145 to 150 out of my 716AP1 7 iron and with the new 7 iron at the fitting was getting 160 consistently, with height, and on line. Cannot say enough good things about the new clubs nor the fitting. At 73, need all the help I can get to maintain my 11 handicap.
  6. I'm interested in upgrading to t serious iron. My ap2 7 iron is deadly at 175. My shot pattern of 10 balls is with in8 yrds long and short but, around 25 yrds left to right. Depend on shot patterns and wind conditions of course . I compared my iron 7 to a buddy of mines TM. TM club was taller and wider and it seemed lighter than mine. I feel like if I upgrade that a bigger wider but lighter iron could help with consistency. Bring that 7 shot pattern backnkn
  7. I didn't finish that. Anyways need more consistency in my irons long iron
