I bought the T100 and the T100-s appears
The stronger lofts may have appealed to me after a test as I had a AP2 and AP3 blended set previously
So feeling a bit disappointed!

In two sessions, I have hit the T100 and the 620 MB irons at the PGA store. My numbers appear to be the best and most consistent with the 620 MB. And coincidentally, I prefer their setup and overall feel & like look.

Now we have the T400 introduction. More distance for the moderate swing speed. Is this just a difference in the respective lofts or is the face that much more responsive?

Should I continue the fitting process including the T400? I am a senior player who will replace my Titleist irons this Spring.

Don’t understand your even thinking about T-400, when you were fit for T-100 and MB? Huge world of difference! Like going from beginners club to tour model. Hit what’s best for you I guess. Length isn’t everything. I would rather have what looks and feels good in my hands and dispersion.

I added a T300 5 iron to a set of 6-W AP3's. That blew me away with the launch and distance over my 6I. I'm curious about the T400 myself. The T400 appears to be a super game improvement iron. Based on the extreme strong lofts - the T400 is a full club less loft than the T300 at 20 degrees for a 5 iron. It will be hard to do a fitting comparing 7 irons with the T400 7I = T300 6 iron. Note the PW checks in at 38 degrees.

I'm thinking I may move from the AP3's to a full bag of T300's, but unless the 7 Iron compares favorably with my T300 5 iron, I don't thing the price premium will be worth it for me to worry about the T400. The T300 is still a good choice.

I for one am always happy to hear of more options for the consumer. Guess the timing will always catch people off guard no matter what. If they had announced plans to add T400 back in November to release in February, someone would still have bought the T300 in October and would have felt like they were limited in their selection. There is never a perfect time for everyone.

Degrees of loft should replace numbers on irons, because lofts are all over the place. I'm just reading Don O's post. My 5iron is 27 degrees, and my PW is 46 degrees.That's 7 and 8 degrees difference respectively.

Having had a day to think about this....I'm relatively over my concern about the lofts vs iron number. It still comes down to performance. If the T400 has an iron regardless of number that is more accurate and consistent to 150 yards than any other Titleist iron set one tries, that is the set one should purchase. If the T100 fits the bill, so be it.

Just don't tell me your T400 six iron is longer than my AP3 five iron. I'm still working on loft creep being more than a marketing ploy. ;-)

I'm glad that when I'm ready for a new set I wait until the spring after the new irons are released. Going to give T100, T100*S and T200 a try as well as a new Driver and Hyrbid(s). Bad enough new set woes, I couldn't imagine playing T300 and switching to T400. Damn gaps and lofts make for more thinking while playing! For me it's going to be bad enough if I go with T100*S or T200. The lofts are stronger and I'll be getting more half a club or more distance!

Yeah, I don't like the strong lofts either. It is definitely marketing, but at least Titleist was last (or one of) to adopt this and it's not to all clubs. As a company, they have to compete with the other companies that are doing it.

I hit my CBs great and pretty far, but yes, it drives me a little nutty when a guy with a strong loft club hits his 7 degrees stronger T400 the same distance, that doesn't help my ego. I mean crap, that T400 5 iron is stronger than my THREE IRON!!!

After using my t300 irons for several rounds, I’m pleased to report that they really fit me well. My earlier concern were just premature. Dispersion is tight so you can seek pins etc.

Guys, I have posted my feelings on this subject before regarding lofts on irons. It is obvious that comparing the number on the club is completely irrelevant these days. As many have stated they are impossible to compare side by side. What I do think is valid though is that if you took out of your bag a 4 iron because it became tougher to get airborne for you and you move to a new set that you start with a 5 iron, that club may have a stronger loft than the 4 iron you took out! The technology may say it is easier to hit, but you are still looking down at a straighter face iron. You need to prove to yourself that you can hit that club.

I just got fitted for the T300’s right before the 400’s came out. I was pretty happy with the results i was getting. Hopefully when i get out on the course the results will be the same and i won’t have to worry about wondering if i should’ve waited for the T4 or T1s.

I've never hit a 5 iron further than a 6 iron. I added a T300 5 iron to my 718s, and it is more than 10 yards longer than my 6 iron. So even if I don't go with the T400, I won't be disappointed. Still want to demo to see how they feel.

I have Ap1 /AP3 combo set and like them but just had Tiger woods surgery on back and wondering if T 400’s might give me more distance and forgiveness if accuracy is not compromised !

Will they get height to stop on the greens with strong lofts ?

Also just hit Calloway Maverick felt good and performance was excellent for 800-900$ Vs. Titleist t 400 GI clubs for $1200+

Titleist may not offer military discounts, but your local retailer may. Given you can't purchase directly from Titleist, the real factor should be the willingness of your local retailer to give you a price break.

I got fitted for the T300s when the first came out based on my swing speed and went to a regular shaft. My Titleist Product Specialist/Fitter proved to me what was best for me. Nice to hit a 7 iron 150-160 yards at my age with accuracy. Talked to the experts and my swing speed is too fast for an old guy of 73 for the T400s..too light....They are designed primarily for someone with a very slow swing who needs to pick up some distance.......all the manufactures have been doing this for years with the lofts.....how many think a touring pro can hit a standard 5 iron 238 yards.......guess anything is life is possible......club lofts are helping people enjoy golf mentally........not everyone can play blades.......and let's face, we really want to enjoy this game......

For many years Titleist was a club for the pro/ better player and that's ok. Even when they started to make game improvement clubs like the AC 108 then DCI, they had small heads and little offset. Titleist always made clubs designed to appeal to a certain player weather they were blades or cavity back. Now here we are in 2020 and there is a big market in the super game improvement area. pxg and xxio are selling these clubs and a lot of them for more than the price of T-400's. Golf is a business and Titleist is not going to be left behind, regardless that they may be a little behind in getting into the super game improvement area. As a consumer, I feel that some people tend to jump a little quick on new product. I would always wait until after the PGA Merchandise show to get new equipment so that ALL of the new product was available. Then you can go for a proper fitting with a Titleist fitter. As far as which model is best for you, well, sometimes the truth may hurt your ego, but the numbers don't lie. I don't care what it says on the bottom of the club, I go with what works best for me to help me get the most for my game.

Yes, although the lofts across different models (and certainly across club manufacturers) are different and bothersome for those with egos, the key remains to be dispersion/accuracy. One can always club up when needed for distance, irrespective of the club# at the bottom. As long as I have uniformly spaced clubs covering 250yds to 75yds across 13 clubs with reliable 12 yds spacing between clubs, I am good. Remember old adage, the person with lowest score wins, not the furthest distance per club.
