I asked about it at TPI - short answer is don't bother. Long answer is it used to be a thing, but the qualtity of shafts have improved so much that it isn't necessary anymore, even tour players don't do it, they said Padraig Harrington was the last guy that still did and he hasn't done it in years. With the not being bonded anymore anytime you adjust the settings you can change the "purring" alignment. Not worth the upcharge imo.

I am a believer! I had all of my shafts PURED a few years ago and saw instant improvement in accuracy and consistency. I think you will find most OEM's discourage the process, because they don't offer it. You're probably not going to find any shaft manufacturers suggest the process either, because it exposes their shafts flaws. And I would have to disagree with Dave M., as a very high number of Tour players have their shafts PURED. Still happening, as evidence of the attached video from this weeks tour event. I've had my PURED shafts in 4-5 different sets of heads in the last 5 years. Well worth the investment, in my opinion.

Titleist having looked at this in the past doesn't offer pureing nor recommend it so for me that is sufficient, however, if one feels it is worth the expense they should follow their best judgement
