Distance over accuracy

    So on Thursday i had my very 1st club fitting and what a great and interesting experience it was with Titleist. New Ts2 is on order and cant wait to get it on the course and find a fairway. I know i can hit a long ball when i hit it, and the current driver i have goes for miles. Just struggle keeping to fairways and getting into good positions (playing hell with my confidence). So after trackman i was further with my old driver but dispersion was all over the shop. After being fitted i lost a few yards but everything was closer together. So what does everyone prefer..distance or accuracy? I went in looking

    I don't have much in "reserve capacity" to recover from OOB, hazards, deep rough, hillsides, or fairway bunkers. Any of these are going to cost me a stroke or more for that hole. Accuracy for me.

    Good question. To each his own on the need for accuracy or distance. Personally, accuracy is optimal and why I choose Titleist in the first place. Distance is second for me as hitting it 10 yards further and 10 yards offline can spell big trouble.

    I am sure everyone likes to be the gorilla off the tee hitting it further than anyone else in your group, but I prefer to be the guy with a lower score at the end of the match.

    No question; accuracy for me. I've got a 13.5 910F still in the bag. It's long enough that I hardly ever hit the matching 910 9.5 driver.

    I do like to pound my driver hard and it does go well over 300 regular, but can at times go a bit wayward , so I do tend to go to the 3 wood which I can still hit a good distance but with more accuracy if I’m having an off day with the driver , or a tee shot is quite tight

    Accuracy is key to setting up the course for optimum scoring.

    Definitely accuracy is the most
    important part of your game especially the recovery shots you need after your long wayward drive.

    Accuracy.

    I start the day with an 80% driver swing. If it finds the fairway and the big club is working that day, i'll increase the power on each tee thereafter. I usually start slicing when i swing over 100% and start the process over at 80% swing speed.

    An 80% driver, 180-200 yards in the fairway is always better than 250+ yards out of bounds.
