  1. My daughter is growing fast, developing a good little game and enjoying it. I think she enjoys daddy buying new gear all the time as much (maybe more :p)

She putts well, chips well (no fear, unlike me!) and drives her 42" 14 degree driver c. 170 carry.

She is still a girl but now as tall as my wife around 160cm. Plays a lot of sport, fit.

Playing us kids 63s but every time we go to lessons she picks up Taylor made kalea and loves them. But they're over gbp1000 for the whole bag. And the second hands on ebay look like they do not wear well, and I don't see ladies elite players using them ;)

    So I started thinking:

New shafts in my old ap2 heads? And vokey wedges? Cut down or reshaft my old rocketbllz driver and 3 wood...

Can anyone advise on the stupidity of this Idea? Am I going to screw up her swing?

Or can someone suggest another sensible option?

    Thank you.

    Matt

  2. She will likely be fine in std ladies length clubs, but the way she hits it i would suggest going for men's senior flex and have them cut down an inch or ordered an inch short. At age 13 she is likely done growing - maybe up to age 14. If she is still playing us kids clubs and hitting it 170 jumping into senior flex may be a tough transition at first, have her try some ladies clubs for awhile then move her into senior flex sooner than later.

Not quite sure if evolution got turned on its head but women don't stop growing at 13/14 years old..

  4. Without getting too personal with the original question, girls stop growing 2 years after their cycles begin. Most girls will reach their full height around age 13-15.

First, I must suggest that you take her to a good club fitter. She will be able to try many different clubs with many different shafts.

The issue with cutting down your old clubs becomes shaft flex and swing weight. When you cut a shaft, it get stiffer. Also when you shorten a shaft without adjusting the weight of the club head, the swing weight changes. These two things combined could lead to a very poorly fit club for your daughter.

Agree with 19hole. Get her properly fit. Clubs do not know how old you are or what's your gender. They only know how fast they are being swung and at what angle. That's why Titleist does not design and market clubs that are gender-specific. Once fit, you might find that your old AP2 heads are ideal for what she needs but need to be adjusted for lie angle and shorter, more flexible shafts. Might be just a cheap to go ahead and invest in a new set built to her specs.

just get a confirmation by a Titleist fitter, then you would have a 2nd opinion at least.
