I recently purchased a TS2 driver 8.5 loft with the Evenflow T1100 6.0 shaft. Standard length. I had to reduce the swing weight using a -2g weight to get the feel I want. The grip is a standard size align grip. Also, my irons are off the rack AP3's. The stock tour velvet grips gave the weight I wanted ... I changed to the align grips and the feel seems to have changed ... maybe its just me.

My question is, I am considering going back to midsize grips ... or maybe the stock tour velvets.. How much does a grip change alter swingweights, and how can you keep the stock swingweights with midsize grips?

Changing to a heavier or lighter grip can change the swing weight if the difference in weight is +/- 2 grams or more.
Refer to the Custom Options booklet and go to the section for grips, it will help and answer some of your weight questions. Not all golf retailers or club repair shops will carry every grip listed in the booklet, so if there is a grip you want to try, you might need to special order them.

I changed the tour velvet grips to the align & they changed the swing weight by about 2 points. I had to add lead tape to the clubheads to get them back where I wanted them

The Tour Velvet Align grip is only one gram heavier than the Tour Velvet so you shoudn't notice any difference other than a difference in feel. Five grams increase in grip weight will reduce swing weight 1 point so switching to midsize will be an approximate 2 swing weight change. An increase of 2 grams in had weight equals 1 swing point- you could make up the needed swing weight by adding tip weights.
