I have used a set of Cleveland irons that were fitted for me on a trip to California in 2002. I have retired and need a new set of irons to replace my Cleveland TA5s. I have been looking at new Titleist irons for the last 3 years. I want to schedule a fitting for new Titleist irons. The new T series looks interesting, but which one, T100, T200, T300 or T400? I will be getting graphite shafts for these new clubs, Where should I go for the fitting??? Should I try Manchester or somewhere else? I need to replace my old clubs.... I will be in California again in October, ha ha....

You could try and schedule a fitting at either Manchester Lane or TPI in Cal. Another option would be to use the FITTING main menu option and search for a Titleist fitter near you.

Nothing I love better than a trip to SD. Manchester may be booked for this season by now with fall approaching. My next choice is a Premier fitting location nearer to you as Barry suggests to look up.

My closest Premier fitting location is a 75 minute drive and well worth the drive. I followed my PGA coach there.

If you live near Manchester, I'd go there in a heartbeat for a fitting.
  5. I would not go to Manchester Lane. It's a nice facility but its not worth the money.

I went there this season. Basically you pay $250 to find out what shaft works for you and you get a box of Pro V's at the end. Fitting is the same as any other club fitter. 7 irons only and no gap testing in the longer and shorter clubs.

I was somewhat disappointed... especially b/c I was not able to try different shafts in the utility irons. This was the one thing I was looking forward to especially and I was promised before I made the appointment.

Titleist also does not use GC quad. Trackman is arguably better, but for a proper club fitting you need GC quad to see where you are hitting the ball on the face.

i would suggest either titleist performance institute or manchester lane test facility to get fitted with your clubs.
  7. I just attended a Titleist fitting in Oceanside on 9/8/20 and it was first class all the way. I’m 61 and Joey took the time to talk and find out my thoughts about what I might need for clubs. We had a 3.5 hour fitting for woods, irons and wedges, he showed me the numbers that I had for my own clubs and had me try multiple set ups of shafts and club heads and the numbers that they produced and made a set of clubs that he e- mailed to me that I could use for years in retirement.I asked Joey where I could get clubs ordered as I live in a area that does not have many choices for club ordering. He suggested going to the Golf Mart in Carlsbad which I did and Aaron took the time to place the order for me. First class day and totally worth the money if you are serious about golf!
  8. I was just fitted at a local golf shop by a gentleman who works for Titleist. Fantastic decision! I would definitely look to see when the next “Titleist Thursday” will be for you. The experience I had was completely different than the first fitting I had with another brand and it will be worth the wait!

Living where you live, if you can afford it, I would definitely choose a fitting at the Manchester facility. Why not have it done by the best!
  12. I've had my new T300 irons for about 10 days.. Been to the range almost every other day and played three rounds with them so far. Got custom fit for these from a local retailer and they suggested lengthening the shafts by 0.5", adjust the lie angle 1 degree and going with midsize grips... I've played the three worst rounds of my life since playing these clubs.

Everything feels wrong, the grips feel loose and like I have no control over the clubface, I can't keep the ball straight and can't get them off the ground without going dead right. The lie angle seems way off from what I was fitted for and the clubs feel horrible in my hand. I even went to visit a friend of mine who owns a golf studio and is a certified pro to do some video analysis, and he thinks these were either fitted terribly wrong or that they aren't built to the specs the retailer provided.

Help what do I do? I just dropped a pretty penny on these and I feel like I hit a totally different club at the fitting...
  13. What a horror story!! It’s been a month since your post. Have you figured anything out yet? I am 69 years old and Used to be an avid golfer but I had to give up golf 20 years ago due to a back injury. Now I am back at the range and planning to play again and feeling pretty excited about it. I am not hitting the ball well which was expected after that long of a layoff. It is almost like starting all over again from scratch. Obviously, technology has come a long way in 20 years and so I am looking to replace my old cally Irons and metals.....in other words a whole new bag of better modern sticks. I am going for a fitting BUT I never imagined that one could hit well while fitting and then end up with something that felt and performed so differently from what they experienced during a fitting. With the price of clubs, that is a little scary for an old retired dude. I sincerely hope it all works out for you and I look forward to hearing about a happy ending.....AND what solution brought it about.

Manchester is booked and closing for fittings at the end of September. I am trying to schedule a time for TPI in California for October. Wish me luck with the fitting... Thanks for all the comments...

Shafts can be shortened and lie angle can be re adjusted. I would go back to the fitter for sure and complain and have them fixed. It's your money.
