Looking for a new set of irons due to med. problems I have lost swing speed. Current clubs are Cal , steelheads + 1 " and 2 deg. flat with R flex.If I move into an A flex, with same length as my current clubs, can I gain back some/all of my lost distance?

Maybe. With a dramatic change to your ability to swing the club, you may need to find a more forgiving head and shaft altogether. That will launch differently to meet the new you.

Distance gains are dependent on club head speed, attack and launch angle, and ball spin. Titleist has a full line of clubs and an even larger choice of shafts to select based on a full fitting. A good fitter will do the best they can do to get you your maximal distance. Your clubs have been out for almost 5 years. Newer clubs over a $50 per club shaft replacement would not be a bad investment to optimize your irons.
