  1. I currently use a 983K with the Grafalloy ProLite stiff shaft. Love the combo. Looking at getting a TS3 or TS4, but don’t know what shaft would best match up to my current ProLite shaft. I need to have a similar tip stiffness to get the correct launch angle for my swing. Any info here would be great! Thanks in advance!

You really need to be open to getting a proper fitting and forget about the old driver and shaft. If you're looking for something that matches up to your current driver or shaft, why not stick with it? I have seen several people who want a comparable shaft in hopes of getting similar results to their old driver, yet when they get a chance to try some of the up to date options they are always surprised at the improvement. At the price of the new drivers, it would benefit you to open your options and see what a difference it makes.

Simple answer.... go get fit by a professional. Titleist has Fitting Thursdays and other events, search "find an event" above. Also, most larger golf shops offer free fittings on their indoor launch monitors. Technology has DRASTICALLY evolved from the 983K to today... the clubs are designed differently, because the golf balls are different. Take the time to get fitted to get the best results. I would also suggest looking at the TSi series... I think they are much hotter faces than the TS series and definitely sound better. Worth looking at for sure.

Technology has changed so much in the heads that I would say you need to be fit. Trying to match a shaft to an old shaft isn't that difficult when comparing flex, weight, torque, etc. However, that is not the only variable. The head is changing also. Launch and spin produced by the head has to be factored in also. You can only narrow all of the variables down by having a proper fitting done. And it will be worth it!

There have been a lot of changes in shaft materials and profiles since the Pro Lite was launched. Difficult to say what would match when you are comparing with a new head design that is drastically different from the 983. Best to find some place to hit them on a monitor to compare.
  6. Thanks everyone, I’m going to definitely go hit some balls and get fit. Makes sense to do that. I appreciate it!
