  1. I am looking for help selecting an iron shaft. I am 60 years old and have lost distance over the past 10 years. My 4 iron is now only about 180-185 and my 7 iron is about 150 -155. My current set of irons is the original 2020 T100 irons, I tried the Tensi blue graphite shafts in regular. (My thinking was increased speed and softer feel). These irons never had the softer feel I was seeking, I may be getting 5 more yards over steel shafts - but these feel really light and rarely solid. Is there a steel shaft that would give me the solid feel and match the T100S heads for maximum distance? From the time I was 20 - 40, I played X100 shafts and they felt good to me, I realize they are not a good match for me now, but something has to be better than what I have. My driver when hit squarely goes about 275-285 consistently.

Anything we suggest will just be a guess. Doing a real fitting where they can try multiple shafts and you can make your decisions based on TrackMan numbers AND the feel you get from the swings will be the only way to really match up your optimal combination.
  4. Dale hits it on the screws again. Get a proper fitting and they'll get you right where you need to be. I'll say that my Project X shafts in my old clubs were super sweet, but they were 6.0, and when I started back up, I noticed right away that they didn't feel, or hit like they used to. I narrowed it down to 5.0 Project X, or SteelFiber 70i. I decided on the SteelFiber 70i, which probably plays more similar to the Project X 5.5 than the 5.0. I'm 56 now, and just started playing golf regularly again about a month ago after taking close to 20 years off.

Again I agree with Dale. Get fit or at the very least got to PGA Superstore or another golf retailer and try out a bunch of shafts.

I can tell you that I have Nippon Modus 3 (120gram), and it's a great shaft. As close to graphite as a steel shaft can get, in my opinion.

Rick find a place to do a fitting with a Titleist fitting tech, it will be an amazing experience and they will get you into the right club shaft combo. I agree on trying the Steelfibers as they have been great for those I have fit into them.
