Titleist AP2 w/ KBS Tour Stiff.

    I've been trying to decide on a new iron set and have narrowed it down to two choices that I could demo. AP2 with DG S300, or TM R9 TP w/ KBS Tour Stiff. I really liked the feel of the forged AP2 head, (currently play a forged club), but had a bit tighter shot dispersion on the other. I noted the swingweight on the TM ranged from D1-D1.5. How would the AP2 swingweight come out with the Stiff KBS Tours? I think if I could keep it around D1 I'd have a nice setup. Also wondering if/how much the upcharge is for these shafts?

    You can try the combination of the AP2 heads with a KBS Tour shaft at any Surefit fitting account.  The KBS shafts will build 2 swingweights lighter than the standard DYG shaft (about D0 +/-1).  If you want a D1 swingweight, that would not be a problem to achieve depending on grip. Just specify the swingweight on your order.  The upcharge for the KBS shafts will depend on the retailer.  Each pro shop sets their own charge - some will just pass on the wholesale cost and others will add a charge.

    Having already bought a set which were lighter than the fitting club - I don't want to make same mistake again. I have to order another set of ap2 in hope of getting it correct, but I am understandably cautious. The club balance I most liked was with KBS tour stiff shaft in standard. My fitter said I needed reg shaft (swing speed 74mph). I Los need + 3/4" long . Info here and elsewhere is confusing as to what to ask for to get swingweight the same as the standard stiff felt.
