Thanks for the post.  The distance differences between all Titleist models is just 4-5 yards. This is true whether you are a high speed Tour player, moderate or lower swing speed golfer. 

As for spin, here is a great chart to help illustrate the differences across all models on a few different shot types. Hope this helps.

Is this assuming the clubs are 2011-2012 year.  Older clubs have different grove types. However I do agree

the Pro VI gives more bite with my older Titleist clubs with any other ball.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but the claim "The distance differences between all Titleist models is just 4-5 yards.", is a bit misleading. Yes, on a robotic arm, with perfect contact, and perfect swing, I imagine that the statment is fully accurate. However, without ideal swings, and without ideal environmental conditions, I just have a hard time believing that this is something that Titleist should be touting. I am a Titleist gamer (although there was that brief stint playing the B330-S), and I just don't think that a beginner or intermediate player, with poor swings and inconsistent games, would expect only a 4-5 difference between the DT SoLo, and a ProV1(x). After a year and a half off due to injuries, I am currently playing to an 18, from a 10 in 2010, I believe I can speak to the difference in these balls. It's true, that when I put a proper swing on the ball, there is no real difference in distance. However, without ideal swing and contact, which for an average player is likely to be the majority of shots in a given round, the sidespin or improper launch is going to exaggerate mishits, and cause a MUCH greater distance gap than 4-5 yards. You don't have to be a really good player to play a ProV1(x), but I believe it is a REQUIREMENT to at least be a consistent player. You really have to at least be down to a single tendency in every aspect of the game (push-fade drives, sweeping irons, pulling wedges, etc.) to really make it worth playing the best ball out there. I can't wait until I start teeing up my high number ProV1x's again (I have played them quite a bit, it just hasn't been worth it yet), but until I have my consistency back, the risk isn't worth the reward.
