Hi,
In the past 15 years or so, I have evolved from a "casual" golfer to a golf-a-holic. It was not too long ago, though, I FINALLY realized making a 3-foot putt is equally important (and costly, if you miss) as bombing a 300-yard drive; they're both 1 stroke on your score card.
While there is no shortage of tips and drills on how to make your putts, this simple drill has had the most impact on my putting:
I wrapped two balls tightly together using food wrapper from my kitchen and started putting with them. The objective was to roll the balls as straight as I can which would happen only if my putter face makes a sqare contact with the balls. At first it will seem almost silly as it would seem almost impossible to roll them straight, but the emotional reward when you finally connect one is worth all the efforts. More importantly, you will find yourself making more putts on the golf course.
Thanks for reading my posting, and I hope to see some positive replies.
P.S.
It would be great if Titleist would consider putting these wrapped balls in their boxes.
