I just heard that a new ProV 1 has or will be launched called the LS. I understand it's a softer version of the ProV line. I thought that was what the AVX was designed for. Anybody have some info?

There's no definitive information on the eventual continuance of the AVX. As the C line of clubs has most of the technology moved to the 917s and 718s, the AVX may morph into the Pro-VLC. ...Or not.
Price point might be the issue. It would be easier to sell an LC at the Pro V price than something not labeled Pro-V... I'm just speculating - I like to consider the PGA Show as the second coming of Christmas (on a material level). Just have to wait to see what is announced at the show for the next line of balls not already labeled Pro-V.

Sam, know it is the end of January. Believe the dates are January 23rd - 26th. I have it on my calendar on my computer but it is on the blink and cannot open my apps. My new Dell arrives the end of next week. I have never been to the show and hoping to go this year.

In Orlando, 1/23-1/26. I think you need to be part of the industry to attend. All the daily golf blogs will be posting that day's announcements. More at:

I have never heard of the LS. Could you provide more info? Where did you hear about it? The only buzz that I am aware of is about the AVX that has been launched in 3 states and sprinkled in shops throughout the US as a "trial".

For further clarification, I heard about the LS ball when I participated in an online Titlest golf ball survey. Several of the questions centered on the ProV LS and if I would possibly use a softer ProV product. The survey didn't mention the AVX ball so I'm thinking "LS" may have been an early name for the "AVX". The survey was well after the soft AVX launch. Hence the original post.
