Agree it is nice to be part of the test community on occasions. I also can see where over the years, the sheer volume of TT members might be getting to an unmanageable point. I see a lot of names pop up with 1 or 2 posts looking for free stuff. I believe there are a lot of "opportunists" looking for freebies they can re-sale to the general public. I imagine its pretty tough for the Titleist staff to sort through the active participants versus the others. That's probably why the trend might be to focus more on testings during events like we had at Kohler and less on general mail-outs. The cost to do the mail outs would eventually be tied to company budgets that impact ball prices. I can understand why they might be pressured to reduce overhead expenses. That said, I am pretty sure they will continue the trend of significant public testing of their primary balls (ProV1/ProV1x). My thoughts anyway...

I disagree. When you look at each of those balls they are distinctly different. They are different because every golfer has different needs from their ball of choice. If Titleist only offered two or three ball options they would be eliminating a large segment of the golfing community as potential Titleist ball users.
The EXP-01 is a limited run ball. When they're gone, they're gone. They are not replacing the prototype balls that typically come out in the fall.
Whatever balls are in the normal cycle of ball upgrades for this year should be the ones coming out as prototypes. If your profile indicates you play the ball(s) being upgraded, then you might get a white box in the mail.

I think that all companies cover different price points when it comes to golf balls. some are willing to pay $48.00 a dozen for golf balls and others are willing to pay $35.00. Still others will not pay more than $22.00. Titleist covers all price points with a quality product and to go even further, there are practice balls, x-outs and logo overruns available.

All companies go through changes and you have to make cuts in places to keep the company costs down. Titleist is a company trying to make money not throw it away.

Just keeping this forum going properly is an extra cost to them which some other companies wouldn't even entertain.

I bought a dozen of TruFeel balls off my Titleist and I received a free TT ball marker. Do you really think there not going the extra mile?????

I've never been happier playing golf with Titleist being the only name in my bag. Really puts a smile on my face.

Titleist is a great company that makes great products an cares about what they put out there, but dont forget that they are a Business. The point of it is to make golf products and sell them! They know what they are doing!

Having choices at various price points is (usually) a good thing for the consumer...

The thing that bothers me, as part of a Titleist authorized golf shop, is the proliferation of colors. Not just yellow Pro V1, V1x, AVX, and Tour Soft, but the variety of Velocity colors for 2020 as well as yellow TruFeel. There isn't enough counter space to display all the options.

Oh, and so happy that the TruSoft has been renamed to TruFeel. It was too confusing for some people with the Tour Soft and TruSoft names! Whoever came up with the old names, and those who approved, should be reprimanded for creating 'cally-like' product confusion!

Ah the analysis paralysis vs one for everyone approach. Ice cream stores come to mind, as studies show too many flavors, while a good thing to have options, lead to less sales and longer wait times in line due to the inability to choose and be satisfied with said choice. That being said, I enjoy the options...your soft is my choice in cold weather and pro v1 in hot summer. With all the tools Titleist offers up for info and proper selection of ball...treat it as a trusty 7 iron..buy with confidence and don’t look back.

Options are a good thing to me. Although I pick up my annual ball supply for the year at a time, I like being able to try something new or different once in a while for my own curiosity as to how well will a new ball fit me. ...or how does it measure to my favorite Titleist ball?

When Titleist gathers in the tour players to test their new golf ball at their test facility or during an actual tour event, I tune in and see what they have experienced with it- how was it for them? Not just from a favorite tour players or the big and long hitters, but also to some tour players who are actually hit the ball in lesser distance although much finesse were emphasized in their game with the way they used the ball. Tour players who does these things eliminates me from doing the work of finding out for my self and I don't mind it at all. They are the professionals and they play for a living while Titleist creates the best possible ball product.

Who knows, has anyone thought... maybe from all the testing we've all participated in is where all the new additional Titleist product are coming from- maybe? I wouldn't be surprised, but the bottom line is that chances are one golfer to the next would look for something slightly different or totally different ball. On top of that, the new and/or young golfers will evolve from beginner to seasoned and some will continue on to being even better and some may even go all the way up to become a pro (I hope). But during those time of changes, those generation golfers will need or demand something different at each level they achieve. As for many of us (I'm sure), we'd like the chance to try them all or as many as we come across with :-)

I consider the times we are in today are a great opportunity to be in and be able to select and fit in the best choice being provided. We may have lesser choice later, but wake up and realize this very cool opportunity!!

I'll be enjoying my own testing with the products that are available to me today and if I like it (wait for it...) I can pick up more of it unlike the ball testing. :-)

They’ll have done it to give more options for everyone to choose from at a guess

Last years i have used pro v1 models but now i thought maybe i do some testing with trackman. Lets see what results are and should i stay with Prov1..

And yes, it would be easyer to pick up one if there wouldnt be so many choises but also now you can pick up something what is just for you.

To be honest, I will probably stay with the Pro V1 for as long as they keep selling it.
