  1. I'm a 3 hcp, hit the ball quite high and far, debating between Pro V1 or Pro V1x, any suggestion? I had been playing AVX the last 2 summers but they are almost too long for me, and don't hold very well on firmer greens. I'm confused bc the ProV1 says it has a softer feel, but spins less around the greens vs the Prov1x. I like the lower trajectory of the Prov1 so I'm leaning that way, any suggestions otherwise? Thank you! MM

  2. I personally think they are great golf balls both of them. I would play 2 balls one proV1 and one pro V1x and see which one your more comfortable with.
  3. Pro V1 has always been known for workability around the greens but slightly shorter than the V1x. That has all changed and I see more pros and better players switching to the V1x.

    @MMiller:

    I played the ProV1x for the last 3 years and I just made the switch to the ProV1 due to too much spin around the greens. In my experience, you will see a huge improvement on stopping power around the greens with either the ProV1x or ProV1 as compared to the AVX, but where I decided between the ProV1 and ProV1x was with my wedge shots.

    I'll admit, everyone is different, but I found it very helpful to hit my wedges at different distances and work my way in, changing up both distances and shot types (i.e. full/75%/50% wedge shots, chip shots, bunker shots, bump and runs, flop shots, etc.) and see which one reacts better to your swing. My guess is that as a 3 hcp, after doing that, you will lean one way or another.

    The ProV1x has that extra layer and thinner cover which is why it spins more and goes higher but the different core material is why it feels a bit firmer. You might have to play a few days with each to determine which one best fits your game. Great problem to have in that each are excellent balls. Good luck!

    I would try the ProV1 if you are looking for a bit more spin than the AVX. You say you hitt the ball high with the AVX. The Prov1x is the higher flying of the ProV1 / ProV1x and might be a bit too high for you.

    If you hit the ball high, go with the Pro V1. Pro V1x launches higher.
