I don't know what the policies are of "Team Titleist", but I find it troubling when there are a few that are selling the "Test" balls on E-bay. Myself, like many others have given our feedback on performance, feel, etc.
I wish there was a way of removing said individuals from "testing" any other products. If you're not going to use them, then give them to a local player to give feedback, please.

The process of using "team members" to evaluate and respond to new products is an excellent process. It is impossible to prevent some individuals from using the system for their individual benefit ($). Thru time titleist will know who the "team" players are.
I have not had the opportunity to play the new prov1/x but look forward to the spring and a new ball.

I cant believe people would do that. I was fortunate enough to be able to test a sleeve of the "test" balls, I was honored to be able to try and give titleist feedback on my results. Hopefully it doesn't ruin the future testing opportunities for the dedicated members.

I was just wondering if any of these testers get paid for their services? I had a guy tell me (7 handicap) that his job is testing golf balls for Titlest... Seems kind of far fetched that a random guy would be "working" for titlest without any kind of club pro or professional experience would be receiving a paycheck from Titlest. Just something I felt you gentlemen might be able to answer. Thanks.
When I got to test the balls i did not get paid, but i could care less about getting paid for the testing process. It is just a great experience to play with "test" golf balls and give them feedback to make Titleist an even better #1 company.

I was lucky enough to have done 2 tests for Titleist, the last one with the Pro V's and the one before, which I believe was a NXT family ball. I know I received a new sleeve of NXT Tour's as a token of appreciation for my testing, although after testing the last ones I didn't get another sleeve of what the ball was. It was cool doing the tests and trying Titleist's latest ball. The NXT test balls were just a plain white ball, it was cool to golf with others and they ask what kind of ball your playing and you get to tell the " It's a test ball from Titleist that's why it has no markings on it."

i think that it is junk that people are selling the test balls... i got to test them and it made me feel like a pro getting to test 2011 titleist balls and then getting to write a review on them... and i completely agree with the post thing

I was honored to test the new balls. It was so much fun as well. I took it so serious, it was kind of silly. I made my own score sheet to keep track of distance, trajectory, spin off full shots, partial shots versus my normal Pro V1X etc. I spent about four hours doing it but I figured if Titleist was going to do something so cool, I was going to really participate and give the best feedback I could. I have placed one of the balls on my display case, any time someone looks at it, they ask about it and I get to brag about the best company in golf. Now the hard part is waiting on these new balls to hit the market because I can't wait to put them in play. Thanks again Team Titleist!!!

Hi Dale,Thanks for the post. As you can imagine (and as you noted), our intention and the spirit of this test panel was to provide loyal Team Titleist members with an exciting opportunity to be a part of our ongoing R&D process as an exclusive reward. We were overwhelmed with the great response, feedback and interest that we received from Team Titleist members as a result of this opportunity. As for the few that decided not to participate, we did reach out to those individuals to get a better idea of why they opted out of this opportunity and make sure that we are connecting with true Titleist and golf enthusiasts. We're excited to offer more exclusive Team Titleist opportunities in the future to our most active and dedicated members, and we look forward to hearing even more ideas of what we can do to make the Team Titleist experience the absolute best for our members. Thanks again.
Mike,
It's good to hear that you guys have tried to reach these people. I have tested prototype balls twice now and I find it fun and a great honor to feel like a member of Team Ttitleist. I hope the feedback that Titleist gets is useful to them. I will be willing to test any other product that Titleist puts out. I really feel that you guys make the best stuff out there.
Thanks again,

I guess someone could find one of the balls if it got lost or dunked in a pond. The day I tested I gave one to my friend and I used one...he lost his in the pond on the 4th hole...I didn't give him my third one. :-)

This is very sad to hear. Titleist gave us an opportunity to test golf balls for them and only asked for a simple evaluation. If those who received the balls, who listed them online for sale, didn't want to participate, they should've sent them back to Titleist.

I thought this ball was a hit -
I used it in a couple of different rounds and it was terrific - it felt really soft, but real nice off the club face. Short game shots were good and did just what I wanted them to do -
Great ball. Good Job -
What will you name it?

I was not selected for the test panel. I just recently became a member of Team Titleist after purchasing my second set of Titleist clubs (AP1's). I totally agree with the comments on this post. I think it is a shame that people would sell the prototype balls instead of honoring the idea behind the panel. Golf is all about integrity and honesty and that's what makes it the best game on the planet.
Hopefully I will be selected for a future panel and have the opportunity to test some equipment. If I am, I assure you that I will fully participate and be appreciative of the opportunity that Titleist gives us as TT members!

Hi Mike,
I was sent an email on Oct. 1 letting me know that I would be receiving a sleeve of the new test balls. As of today, I still have not received them in the mail. Should I just continue to wait or is there someone I can contact regarding this? I appreciate your help!!!
Thanks,
Jeff

This was the first time that I was selected to test and I thought it was a great honor. I had the red numbered ball and really liked it. It felt good but it spun way more on the green than I was used to. I had a hard time holding my approach shots on the green. It was pretty cool to see them spin back like that, though!
Hello Mike,
I was just wondering if you had any information with regards the missing test balls I was supposed to receive? I know your very busy but I am just looking forward to being able to take part in this testing!! Thanks for your help!!!
Hi Jeff,I just sent you a PM with some details. Talk to you soon.

How about offering the next test opportunity to to all the members via a post. The people who respond first, how ever many you need, get the chance. This way your assured that only the most active guys/gals are among the lucky few. We read the posts daily so that would be equal opportunity. Just a thought.
Deno
I agree with Deno about offering product testing via a post. I also think you should have some "terms and agreements" form to have participants sign stating that by accepting the product, they agree to test it and provide feedback to Titleist and will not sell the product(s).

Your test balls were very durable as I reported. Unfortunately I was out of the country when you held your follow up survey. I'm curious whether you have released a new ball for sale like the test ball?
Gregory CSugar Land, TX
I recieved a sleve of test balls, however due to an injury, I was unable to test them until last week but now cannot find the web page to provide feedback.
By the way, I loved them! I have a hard time getting a golf ball to back up on the green. This was not a problem with the test balls. Thanks!

Utilizing Team Titleist members to test new products is a great opportunity for a moment to be like a tour professional. While I did not receive a sleeve of balls to test, I was fortunate enough to be given a sleeve by my teaching professional to try and provide feedback to him, who is sponsored by Titleist. It was as if I received a late Christmas present.
What a great ball and I especially like to way it feels coming off my new 910 D2 driver. Cannot wait for the fairway woods and hybrids to hit the market. Same professional referenced above received his fairway wood and hybrid this week. It was fun to take a sneak peek - I am definitely living vicariously through him. Keep the great products coming.

Was fortunate to receive a sleeve of the new test balls and I truly believe they are the best proV1's since the 2006 model. Thanks Titleist for the sleeve.

Is there any chance that I could get a sleeve of test balls? I really want an oppurtunity to test them out.
