    Hi John,

Check out what Bubba Watson had to say about the new golf ball before winning this weekend at the Farmers Insurance Open...

    http://www.titleist.com/teamtitleist/b/tourblog/archive/2011/01/31/video-bubba-watson-on-new-pro-v1x-golf-ball.aspx

You can also read this interview with Bill Morgan, senior vice president for golf ball research and design at Titleist, in the Global Golf Post to get some more insight: http://www.globalgolfpost.com/gear/new-pro-v1-emphasizes-aerodynamics/

In the meantime, here are some details on the new golf balls:

    New Pro V1:
The new Pro V1 provides the exceptional distance and durability golfers have counted on, and now also delivers increased spin control and a more consistent flight. This advanced performance results from a new innovative ZG process core technology, responsive ionomeric casing layer, Urethane Elastomer cover and spherically tiled 352 tetrahedral dimple design. And with 3 axes of symmetry, our new aerodynamics deliver a penetrating ball flight that holds its line in the wind.

    New Pro V1x:
Delivering very low spin off the driver and long irons, the new Pro V1x provides longer distance and more consistent flight along with its renowned Drop-and-Stop greenside control. It features a large, high velocity dual core with a soft center, responsive ionomeric casing layer, urethane elastomer cover and spherically tiled 328 tetrahedral dimple design. Also, a higher trajectory contributes to Pro V1x’s longer distance and a consistent flight that cuts through windy conditions.

Titleist is on top because it's #1 on the Tour.  No hype, no smokin' mirrors.   The numbers back it up as well as the best players in the world year after year.  Trust isn't just a slogan.  I think Bubba answered that at Torrey Pines.

    Hey Mike

What does "increased spin control and more consistent flight" mean, in comparison to the previous ProV1?

That sounds like less spin, which is what I was afraid of, thus I was screaming don't change ProV1.

    Hi John,

The new Pro V1 is actually going to spin a bit more for improved control into the greens. The more consistent flight is a result of the new aerodynamics package and tetrahedral dimple design. Hope this helps clarify. Thanks!

Please show data to back your statement.

My experience with ProV1 (392) vs ProV1x (332) proves less spin with the ProV1x results in better accuracy, streighter ball flight, better roll on the green.

I am still trying to find Titleist DT-Carry (252) balls but no help from the peanut gallery.

Using These balls are like throwing darts at targets.

I am a 14 handicap like control around the green but in need of distance. My swing speed is 85 mph with the driver and most of my distance comes after the ball lands and rolls further. Would the new Pro V work for me? I have played them in the past and really like the ProV-X.

hey nick you would probably be better off wit the prov1x , because they are saying that this ball has less spin of the driver and is gonna  go higher and longer. but you can never tell until you hit both balls and see the difference. Like you i have been hitting the prov1 because my golf club has rock hard greens. but i think i am gonna order the prov1x and c what happens. i wish titliest would send me one of each so i know which one i like better>

John, thanks for your input. I like your suggestion for Titliest to furnish us a sleeve of each.:)

    Hi John,

That is certainly a question we do hear a lot.  :)  As you might imagine, the cost of honoring all such requests would be prohibitive, and, because we do not want to discriminate by honoring some and not others, it is company policy to refrain from providing complimentary merchandise.

However, make sure you enter our current sweepstakes for a chance to win a dozen new Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf balls. We're giving away 2-dozen a day for the entire month of February. Here is a link:  http://www.titleist.com/sweepstakes/

I have yet to try them for my self also. But i am as curious as you as to the performance changes. I know from reading about them that they are a diffrent ball so its not so much a Sales gimic but there is an actuall diffrence in the ball process. So i am eager to listen to any of the enginers design thoughts on what changes were adopted and what there thought process was.
