  1. I understand that Titleist has a 3 for 1 return policy. Is this 3 new balls for one defective one or you must return 3 defective balls to get 1 brand new one?

Also, if I was to send them 12 and they agree only 4 of them are truly defective, Would the other 8 be returned to me? or does Titleist just keep them?

    Hi guys,

Thanks for questions. Here is some more information on the policy to help clarify. All Surlyn-covered Titleist & Pinnacle golf balls (e.g. NXT and DT So/Lo, all Pinnacle models, etc.) are covered by our Cut-Proof Guarantee. This limited warranty states that we will replace any of our Surlyn-covered golf balls 3-for-1 that are cut or cracked during the normal course of play. The definition of "cut during the normal course of play" consists of any cut through the cover resulting from the normal strike of a golf club. The normal course of play does not include any abrasion resulting from a lawn mower, cart path, tree, or any other surface than a golf club. This warranty also does not cover any covers that are scuffed or sheered as the result of normal use. If you live in the United States and feel your golf ball(s) are defective, we ask that you please return the golf ball(s), along with a note describing the problem (including where you purchased), and your return address to:

    Acushnet Company
    Attn: Consumer Ball Returns
    333 Bridge Street
    Fairhaven, MA 02719

Upon receiving the golf ball(s), we will inspect and replace accordingly, should a manufacturer's defect be deemed present. Please keep in mind that any ball cut or scuffed due to contact with a tree, cart path, or any other object outside of "normal use" is not covered under our Cut-Proof Guarantee. If you reside outside of the United States, please reply to let us know which country, and we would be happy to provide return instructions for that particular region.

Note: The cover of the Pro V1 and Pro V1x features Urethane, a soft material that compresses against the club face on impact. Meanwhile, the NXT Tour features a Fusablend cover. Both of Urethane and Fusablend are materials that transmit a softer sensation to the hands and provide more spin than Surlyn-covered golf ball models. The Pro V1, Pro V1x, and NXT Tour are designed primarily to maximize spin and feel for higher overall performance. For this reason we do not guarantee these models against cutting as we do our Surlyn-covered balls (e.g. NXT and DT So/Lo, all Pinnacle models, etc.).

Only in cases of manufacturing/production defects or cracked golf balls (i.e. cut through to core) will we review the Pro V1, Pro V1x, and NXT Tour models for potential replacement. If you live in the United States and feel your golf ball(s) meet this description, we ask that you please return the golf ball(s), along with a note describing the problem (including where you purchased) to the address referenced above.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your continued support of Titleist...the #1 Ball in Golf.

Great explanation Mike! The key here is surlyn covered balls under normal playing conditions. If the ball hits a tree or a rock, etc. it is not covered by the warranty. Titleist's warranty is fair - it cannot control poor or unfortunate shots. It can control the performance of the ball in the manner that it was intended to be used.
  5. I'm sorry to say this but your post did not help as much. I read this before and this is where I was curious. I just needed to know before I send in my defective balls on the 3 for 1 system if I get 3 new balls for 1 defective one. And in your post, I still do not know if I am returned the balls that you believe were cut by the trees or etc.

For example, If i send in 7 balls, and Titleist decides that 3 are defective.
Do I receive 9 new balls for the 3 defective and am I returned the other 4 that Titleist decided did not fit the requirements to be replaced.

    Hi Tae Hyun L,

Sorry for any confusion. To clarify, if a ball is deemed to meet the criteria for the limited warranty we will provide 3 new golf balls for the 1 golf ball that is cut or cracked during the normal course of play. In your example, if you sent in 3 golf balls that met this criteria you would receive 9 golf balls in return.

We typically do not return any golf balls that are sent in for review but all returns are handled on a case-by-case basis.

Please feel free to send me a direct message if you have any additional questions that you would like to discuss. Thanks a lot.

  7. Last question. How long would it normally take to get new balls? Because I have some balls that were manufactured horribly and I just wanted to know how long it will take to get replacements for them. I live in CA

    Hi Tae Hyun L,

It typically takes a few weeks but each case is reviewed individually so the timing can vary from case to case. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your continued support.
