I am 64 Yrs old and have been playing Golf for 1 1/2 years. I initially got some inexpensive bundled clubs and a few hand-full’s of used balls at the Pro Shop to practice with as I was loosing the balls almost as fast as I hit them. The Titleist balls felt good when I hit them so sorted through the Pro Shop used selections to get only Titleist. I am in good shape, played most of the sports offered in school and still play competitive soccer twice per week. I seemed to take to the game very quickly and enjoy the challenge of learning and improving each day. I hit about 100 shots each evening on my from lawn. One morning I woke to find my clubs were stolen. So....out to buy new ones the next day. When I shopped for new clubs I wanted a smaller club face as I was hitting the old seeming large face clubs within a one inch area on the face. The Pro Shop had some used Titleist CB's. I liked the feel, size and workmanship of the Titleist CB Irons which I purchased on the spot. When I hit the sweet spot on the CB's using the Titleist balls it felt effortless. At this point I was hitting the 7 Iron 150 yards but in various unwanted directions. I picked up Ben Hogan's Five Lessons and read it and re-read it an go over it at least once per week. As my shot direction improved I asked the guys at the Pro Shop about a ball selection. The shop owner said you have been buying the used PRO V1's. Do you like them...Yes I replied. Do you leave a divot when you strike the ball. I said no, I pick the ball clean off the grass, I do not like to mess up the Fairways. Ok then, if you like them, they seem to work for you. This past week I played a round at Lost Canyon Golf Club in Simi, California. With the a special event going on I received a dozen non-Titleist Golf balls. As Lost Canyon is very close to a links type course I used the free balls as the course was difficult and I wanted to save my Pro V1’s. My club felt like I was hitting rocks. I could not get in any kind of rhythm, my club feel was off, I was second guessing my swing, distant was random and I lost more than a few balls in the wind. On the 14th Tee I said "enough" and reached in my bag for a PRO V1. I grabbed the oldest beat up ones I had with pale yellow blotches in the white cover from being hit repeatedly. I hit the first one in the weeds but the tactile feel came back. The second one went 260 yards right down the middle. The second shot with the CB 3 Iron went 195 yards into the wind. I was able to chip up and par the hole. I may be a beginner with out a broad Golf expertise but it sure felt good to hit the distance and direction I was use to with the PRO V1. In fact the last 5 holes were 2 holes Bogey and, 3 holes Par. I finished the 14th thru 18th with out loosing another ball. I am very satisfied with the Titleist products

I couldn't agree more! I too have more confidence knowing that my ball (Titleist ProV1x) will perform the way I expect it to. Having tried most every ball out there, the Titleist brand is by far the best.

I totally agree about the quality of the ProV1 ball.  My other favorite ball was the CTU 30 Blue which I was lucky enough to score 10 dozen of, brand new, on eBay for an amazing price.  When they are gone, I will likely go right back to the ProV1 or maybe the X.  They are what I played in college and they are one of the absolute best balls I have ever played.

Thanks for sharing your story! Sorry to hear about your clubs being stolen. That's a shame. On the bright side, you made a good decision in choosing Titleist products. I'm sure that you'll be very pleased with your decision(s).

I love being in the titleist family. I have tried so many other major brands in golf and nothing compares!! I love playing the Pro V1x because I get a lot of spin with also a lot of distance, but oddly I get more spin with the Pro V1x than the Pro V1. But that's fine with me!!
