Why does it seem more tour pros and amatuers alike use the Pro V1X more?

      If i'm not wrong the Pro V1 has more spin, which is what you would need on tour, right? Just curious why people would want less spin on irons?

    It depends on how you swing the club. If you have high ball flight then you want less spin, if you have low ball flight then you want more spin.

    If you have a high swing speed then you want less spin, because hitting into the green with an 8i from 170y you produce more spin than someone hitting into the green with an 8i from 150y. If the guy hitting an 8i from 170y uses a high spin ball then he will lose distance(ballooning) and control.
