I'm Domenic. You may know me from my obsessive ball fitting posts. I've never broken 100, but have broken 50 for 9. I'm 13 on the 25th of this September, and have been golfing since the summer going into 4th grade, I amnow in seventh. I have taken group, and now private lessons with a V1 video camera and all that jazz from Mr. Bob Bourne (great renowned teacher) I know the golf swing, but sometimes, I don't really know. My drives and putting are good. Everything in between is what turns 5 into 7, I guess. The short game is hot or cold, but is a relative stong suit. PLease offer advice on practice routines and such other helpful *** to help me break 100. Cuz, seriously at 13, I know people who shoot in the 70's and 80's. PLease?

    Hi Domenic,

I have posted on a couple of your golf ball fitting forums. I am also 13. I constantly shoot in the 70's. Back when I shot in the 100's, I watched these videos on golf.com called breaking 80. I know your trying to break 100 but this is the best video series to get you shooting low scores. Even for you. I would also recommend purchasing Phil Mickelson's Secrets of the Short Game movie. This will put your short game at pro level performance. If you are having problems with your irons, I would suggest that you watch some videos on golf.com and find something that works for you. Also, you could look on team titleist for any videos.

    Hope this helps,

    Nate

    Hey Dominic.

Next time you have a chance to play try using a 7 iron and a sand wedge only. If you hit your driver well you can tee off with that.

But I can almost :) guarantee you will break 100 if you only use those clubs.  If not a 7 pick a club you can reach your par 3s with and use that. Playing with just one or two clubs is actually fun.

    Good Luck.

I agree with Nate, the Mickelson DVDs are great. The first thing you should probably try to focus in on are shots from 70yds and in, this is where most of yor game is spent. If you get comfortable in this range your more likely to get less frustrated on misses around the green and save yourself strokes. From there, I would slowly work back away from that range. Don't try to do too much. I know the first summer that I broke 100, I followed it up by breaking 90 a couple weeks later; things will just click for you and you'll start shooting better. Best of luck to you.
