Everything goes right, drives go extremely low and hard right. Wedges and high irons are good. 5 wood is fine. main problem is with driver and lower irons and hybrid. Was told to turn hands over, come inside ball, and not shift weight so fast when starting downswing. Does this sound right? Any extra tips? Help please

ok so what it sounds like you might be doing is possibly coming in really flat into your shot. Try a slow slow back swing where it feels like your not really moving fast. bring it up a bit more upright then on the down swing feel like you are dropping your shoulder and turn your hips through the shot. It should help you "drop in the slot" and allow you to naturally accelerate through the shot. Also sounds like you may have the ball a little too forward in your stance with your long irons and are chasing it. As for the hybird and driver try playing the hybird as if its a 7-8 iron. Let the club do the work as there is a ton of tech in the head and shaft. The driver SLOW the swing down and let your body and club work together. I have the same problem when i get a little to quick with it. Doing that and playing it a ball or half a ball forward will allow you to catch up with it and catch it on the upswing. Well i hope this really helps seeing how i cant really see your swing.

  3. The best place to start always is make 100% sure you have the right basics, Grip Stance, posture, alignmet and tempo. The swing goes wrong because we compensate for the wrong basics. with a 7 handycap it is most likely they the problem will go away once you have re- established the basics. with the driver it looks like two potential problems, ball to far back in stance. if you fix the basics and you still get a low right flight but the rest of the clubs are going well, sorry to say but the shaft is to stiff and loft to low. People all want long drives and go for shaft flex to stiff and not enough loft as they believe they will have to much spin. the first objective should be to hit fairways and then you have clear shots to the green.

MAYBE a lack of release...holding on to it sometimes i hit it low on the face and with the face open. sometimes i fight that if i try to fend off the hook during a round. just releaseing it will solve that if that is the case

the release is a problem that i've been working on with coming inside of ball. that is an issue

the release is a function of everything done before the release

or in other words, the release should just happen.

It seems the things you were told to do are the cause of your current problems.

So which came first, low right ball flight or trying to come from the inside and roll your arms?

Is the person telling you this a golf instructor? or possibly a team mate in contention for a spot on the team?
