relax the grip small forward shaft lean and just let it go. don't stand over the ball to long and make sure your routine is the same. i do the two practice swing two look method. i take two practice swings to get the feel of the putter head. i step over the ball look at my target. look back at the ball look at my target and by the time i focus back on my ball I've started the back swing and commit to a smooth putt. even if i miss as long as the ball went on the line i wanted then i know its just my line i chose that was wrong and not my swing.

cheers fairways and greens to all

Constant grip pressure through the entire stroke and think to yourself it is not a big deal, 1 Billion people could care less if you make it or don't. Don't put to much pressure on yourself it is just a putt..

The one thing about my golf game I would say is the best is my putting. I went through a period last year where I was very uncomfortable the closer I got to the hole. I even started 'yipping' from 4 feet and closer. My cure was getting behind the ball, analyzing the break if any and picking out a spot only one inch in front of the ball that would allow my ball to roll into the hole. Square up to the ball and the key is to make a solid stroke so the ball rolls over your spot. You must not use your hands at all, only use your shoulders to swing the putter back and forward. Key thought is my right hand. At address position you must keep the wrinkles formed at the wrist the same in the back stroke all the way to finish. I do not take any practice strokes when I address the ball but it is OK to make practice strokes when you are behind the ball and analysing the break. Once you see the line walk up, address the ball, keep the right wrist firm and use your shoulders to putt the ball into the hole. Note: A lot of tips have you keeping the left wrist firm which if the right wrist is firm, the left wrist has to be firm also. Just eaiser for me to think keep right wrist the same at address all the way through the stroke.

Google "The Quiet Eye"... it's an article that gives some good insight and science behind putting.  Don't look at things too long or you will surely miss.  It's about routine and trust.  Practice your pre-putt routine and get in a habit that helps make you think less and relax.
