  1. Hi, I had a question about the new line of Scotty Camerons for 2012. I heard there coming out with them sometime in January. My

question is about what type of putters they will offer. I was about to get the Newport 2.6 that is already out because I like the

center shafted putters. Does anybody know if they will offer any center shafted putters in the new line? I am torn between the

Newport 2.6 and the New California 1.5 or the new Scotty Cameron that is coming out. I have another important question about

these putters and I have tried the Newport 2.6 and the California Monterey 1.5 and there are just awseome but I cant decide

which one will fit me best. Does anybody know how you can choose what type of putter is best for you? Any suggestions or tips

    would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

you have to put with them for a little while. sometimes you have to let the putter chose you. I absolutely love my 2.6! but I also have a fast back abd a Hollywood. I toyed with picking up a kombi but haven't decided yet.

but this is not about me. honistly you have to pick the one that just feels right. youll know it when you feel it.

  3. I agree with John...my 2.6 is great but this is a very personal thing...

Center shafted putters are now more mainstream so you should not have a problem finding them at Golf Galaxy or Dicks...

    Good luck!

I agree with John L. I am thinking about picking up a Newport 2.6 as well. I am also partial to the center shafts. However, once you get putting fundamentals down, everything else is really psychological preference combined with the feel of the putter. Some people like heavy, some people prefer light. Some like to feel the impact through the stroke, where as others like a smooth float.

In my opinion, the only thing that matters if you know HOW to putt, is what is aesthetically pleasing to you when your lining up looking down the shaft and how it feels when your swinging it.

Keep us posted on your choice! Not sure how long before I can scrounge up the funding to get me a Newport 2.6

  5. Hi, Thanks for replying, but I actually tried the Newport 2.6 and I liked it and then I tried the California Monterey 1.5 and they were

both just as good, unfortunately the problem the store I go to doesnt have any more to try the newport 2.6 and I looked

EVERYWHERE! so i cant really compare these two putters, does any one have any suggestions or thoughts? thanks

If you tried them both and liked them both, go with which one is more visually appealing to you. This will help with your psychological game. If you buy the one, and start to put bad with it (probably wouldn't have anything to do with the putter in this case) then you may say to yourself "dang should have gotten the other."

If you by the one that looks the best to you, even if you start playing bad, you can say "I tried them both, and they both were great, so at least I got the sweetest looking one."

Another thing I would consider is the availability and price, for some that is no issue, but If you truly have no preference, then get whatever meets your length specs for the best price...

They are both made with the same steel, have the same loft and lie, and come in the same length preferences. I like the Newport better because it offers you the opportunity to change the head weight if you need to. I guess it is more versatile if your not a tried and true golfer who is still working on perfecting your game.
