alright so, i'm a pretty good golfer i'd say. my handicap is at 4, and should get better as the season progresses. i usually shoot anywhere from even to 76. but lately (this past week or 2) i've been hitting a huge snap hook. i have no clue what is wrong. i usually hit a cut, and i cut across it pretty violently sometimes (not a sliceer, usually a 3-7 yard cut) so i already pull the ball when i hit it normally. but now i'm hitting my driver straight left, and about 10 feet off the ground. i have a swing coach i just don't wanna pay him 60$ for something i can probably fix on my own. i'm also going through a swing change at the moment trying to get my swing flatter and more of a straight back-inside-inside motion. maybe my clubface is too closed at the top and that's where i'm messing up? but this is literally every time i hit the ball, and with any club too. anybody have any ideas on what i could do to fix it tonight? i have a tourney tomorrow and don't really wanna shoot my great grandfathers age.

When you flatten your swing out and do not start your down swing with your hips you will hit the old pull or pull hook. Try clearing your hips (start the down swing with your hips) will stop the OTT swing and keeps it flat.

Download the V1 golf app on your Ipad, tablet or laptop. Have a friend film you from behind and use the V1 golf you will see that you are coming over the top. V1 is a great program to help swing flaws. ( http://www.v1golf.com/ )

    Hope this helps

I recently went through the same thing, a violent snap hook. I am a 7 handicap and I usually hit it very well with my driver (290 yard roll out, usually a 2 yard draw). A good way to fix it is to let your arms come through. At the follow through, make sure your left arm is straight. What you are most likely doing is pulling up with your arms and breaking down, causing contact toward the toe of the club face. Hope this helped!
