Still have over 50% snow cover in WI, but going to MS this weekend to see green greens. On the range, can't get a feel for distance with balls burying in snow or bouncing on ice. Went to a local big box and one of the floor guys did a gap check with their trackman into a net on mats. Rather than use whatever white balls were in the bucket, I took in some Tri-speed Tour Yellows so that at least the ball characteristics would be consistent. Consistent with the Pinnacles at the range, i'm getting a lot of loft.
21 910F Ilana A flex club speed 80 Launch 20.5 optimal 18.9
17 910F Bassara A flex club speed 80 Launch 19.8, optimal 17.6
24 910H Ilana R flex club speed 74 Launch 20.4 optimal 18.9
And the other hybrids and irons (AD-65 A flex) were consistently higher than optimal, and all were about 10 yards after carry and optimal was 15-21 yards. I'd like to expect a little more roll out with the longer clubs.
Should I think about getting refit for different shafts? Will a more penetrating flight ball help? Play the ball a little further back? I didn't take white Titleist balls - didn't want to mix them in with the beat up supplies in the stalls. What are the most likely tips? I do have access to an advanced fitting center once we see terra firma again.
