In the 12 years that i have been playing this is the first year that i have became serious about my game. I was Fitted for my Irons, working on the woods now, and now comes the big question. what about the putter? I have the 2010 Laguna 1.5 in a 34.5" shaft. standard loft and lie. should i go somewhere and have them custom fit the loft and lie? does it matter? I am still new to the club fitting so i have no idea.

    Chris,

If you have the opportunity to get fit for a putter I would take advantage of it. I do a lot of putter fittings and find people have the incorrect length, loft, lie angle, type of head and hosel configuration.

A simple fitting and measure all this for you and give you the peace of mind you are playing with the best equipment for you. Properly fit equipment makes a difference and it's one aspect of the game you can control.

    Good luck,

Never gave much thought to getting fitted for a putter until I saw Brad Faxon at the Cog Hill Studio video on this site.   Mindboggling.

I guess there is a science to it to compliment the feel aspect.

Putter fitting can be a game changer!  A successful fitting can create a lifelong client for us.  We do it at our Studio in Austin, Texas.  I would suggest a Titleist Advanced Fitter in your area.  If you are in Austin...game on!

Without a doubt go with a professional putter fitting.  Think about how many times you use it during a round - it is likely the club that you use on every hole, and I guarantee that it is the club that you use the most.  Take the time and get fitted.  You will not regret it!

I'm becoming more and more intrigued by the whole putter fitting concept.   Will have to look into it this season.  I know I like a 35" with an oversize grip.
