Hi there-  can someone give me some insight ? if you have a generally closed stance will your miss usually be to the left or to the right?  I am currently in preseason swing form and i hitting more of a draw than anything else, i usually hit str8 or maybe a slight fade.  I did shift to a stiffer flexed shaft compared the R flex i was playing.  I am just curious if anyone has some insight? or if the stiffer flex might have adjusted that...  as i said in MN i am just getting back into my practice routine and am thinking i might be standing a bit open but not sure if that would affect it??     thanks as always.

I was hitting a fade quite a bit last year and tried closing my stance a little and started to hit the ball much straighter. I would think that a stiffer shaft would also help fix a fade since you are bending the shaft less, but I'm sure someone can confirm if that is true or not. I do know that more of a closed stance will fix a fade and if your body is coming through a little later than before it would produce a draw. A don't mind hitting a draw since it will give you more distance.

Remember what creates a draw and a fade.  A draw is when the face is closed to club path and a fade is a when the face is open to club path on center face hits.  A stiffer club can change how you swing but the weight of the shaft will have a bigger influence on how you swing.

The only way to find out about your path and face is to find your nearest teacher with a TrackMan.
