I'm working on steepening my swing a little bit with my pro and its working great for my irons but with the driver i'm hitting huge pushes. The problem is that my hands are too far ahead of the club at impact which works with the irons but kills the driver. I'm trying to get the shaft of the driver to match up in a straight line with my left forearm at impact but i can't seem to get the feel of this right. I've been doing lots of slow motion drills to try and get the feel for it. Does anyone have any tips for this?

Your iron swing concept is awesome, but it's not going to be effective with the driving swing.  I would experiment feeling similar concepts with the only exception being your right side of your body is lower than your left at setup and trying to maintain this feeling throughout the swing.

So, feel like your right knee is lower than your left.

Right hip lower than your left.

Right shoulder lower than you left.

Assuming you are right handed, this can help create a shallower angle of attack and potential help you square the clubface.  Let us know how it works!

With your iron set up at address your hands are ahead of the ball and club head and you want them to be the same at impact for a decending blow but with the driver your hands will be in line or behind the ball at address and you will want to impact the ball with a accending blow. At impact let your right shoulder lag behind just a little as this will keep you from coming over the top and keep your hands, hips and club face all in sync at impact. A swing thought would be like throwing a baseball side arm where the right shoulder dips just before you release the ball.

Try doing baseball swing with your drive, I picked up 15 yards after a week of practicing it.

Good thing to remember is, irons = steeper swing to improve spin, driver = shallower (more of a sweeping) swing to eliminate spin to create a shot that isn't fading too much, drawing too much, or having backspin (creating a higher drive and the ball not getting it's potential roll).  A good swing key for the driver is, "low, slow, set, and go."
