As long as I can remember I've had an outside to in swing path. Very common obviously. I've lessened it over the years but still wasn't making the contact I wanted and more times than not losing it to the right. I could never get my mind and body to work together to come inside the ball. My pro finally told me to imagine I'm trying to swing it out to right field. Well lo and behold it clicked and it's going straight to a slight draw. My divots are on target and it feels great. Now I have no idea how to hit a cut if I want to. I've been doing it for years because of a swing fault. What's the approach to doing it on purpose?

Working the ball, for me, starts with my straight shot approach. If i am striking the ball well and hitting it relatively straight, i change nothing with my swing. For a cut i aim to the left pick a target like always, then i put the club face pointing in the direction i want the ball to land. Just open the face, slightly. Take a normal swing and it will start on my aim line and cut to where the club face was pointing. For a draw do the opposite, aim right and close the face to the intended landing of the ball. This is very easy because you change nothing about your swing or grip. You must be comitted to the aim line. Do not deviate or try to help the ball, just let the club do the work. Practise. This works great when you need to bend the ball around a dog leg or an ostacle like a tree. It gets more difficult when in the rough or on uneven turf, but possible.
