Playing 180 from the whites, the uphill par 3, #4 at Shennecossett, was playing downwind to a center-cut pin. Played a 21 degree hybrid 3 that landed about 10-yards short of the false-front green, skipped up and vanished from view.
A playing partner who'd hit a ball on the same line had already gotten to the green and was over the back where he found his ball. As I crossed the green he was searching for mine when I decided to take a glance in the cup. Sure enough, there was my AVX staring up at me.
