My first hole in one was on a par 3 course with half SW on a 100 yard hole, and I've always discounted it, waiting for one that was not essentially a chip. On December 5, 2023 I got my second hole in one at Phoenix Country Club, hitting my Pro V1 190 yards uphill, with what some of my buddies would call a little buttercut fade to soften the landing to a back pin with a 4 iron on hole 8. It hit nice and soft, broke a little right and took a tracking turn left along the ridge on the right side of the green. My playing partner said it went in, but I figured it was just another close one that would be right behind the stick. But as we got within 50 yards, and could see over the rise, it was nowhere to be seen. My second hole in one, at age 57 and a 25 year wait. A great shot and a great day!
