My wife, Georgina, and I were playing our local course, Neangar Park GC. We'd both had a rough 11th hole, with me managing to scrap a square (par day) after blading my wedge over the back of the green, whilst Georgina picked up. Heading into the par-3 12th we weren't full of confidence! I chose my 8-iron for the 140m hole. I flushed it. Better than I'd played any shot all day. The pin was just over the crest of the green, so we lost sight of it. The group on the 13th tee box, located adjacent the 12th green, erupted. A couple of young lads screamed their heart out. It was terrific! Then, Georgina stepped up to the tee box. She decided a 6-iron was the best option and boy was she right! She, too, flushed it. Losing sight of the ball once more the boys went up again! It was loud. Georgina and I celebrated, the group behind us went up, and the boys ran onto the green. It was a memory I'll have forever and I'm so grateful I get to share in the joy with my wife. Two hole-in-ones in consecutive shots is enough to go and buy a lottery ticket I think.
