We have “Men’s League” that takes place every Tuesday night. It’s a 9 hole event and the format is different every week (scramble, shamble, tip and tuck, etc). Well me and a few buddies always do a “pre 9” beforehand just to get warmed up. It’s a very casual outing, but yesterday I was absolutely puring everything. I’m typically a pretty good iron player, but it was just coming off the face a little differently this time. We played the back 9 at the East course of our club, and we stepped up to the 16th tee, which is a 168 yard par 3. I put a tee in the ground and hit the purest 8 iron I think I’ve ever hit. The hole was facing directly into a late afternoon sun, and my buddies were saying go in as the ball was in the air. We saw it bounce once right beside the pin then disappear. It was a back pin so we figure it had bounced off the back. We get to the green and there’s a ball on the back fringe just over the green and I assumed it was mine. I walked up to it and it was #4 ProV1, and I was certain I hit a #1. My buddies go check the hole and there it was. We went ecstatic. It was a moment I will never forget.
